My name is Cassandra Nelson and I am the Criminal Justice Initiative Coordinator. I also am a part of the administration team. In addition to that, I do art therapy. My journey at Compass Point began in April, 2022 when I was hired as a Chemical Dependency Technician. I graduated high school in 2019 and I plan to go back to school to pursue a degree in Psychology and Criminal Justice. My long-term goal is to become a Forensic Psychologist. I consider myself an empath and I have always had a passion for helping people. This job has allowed me to be involved with people who may not feel accepted in our community. My job is not only to help them continue on the right path for their recovery, but it is also my personal goal to help them feel safe and supported throughout their journey. Addiction is an epidemic in our country, and it is my job to help. In my free time I enjoy hiking, kayaking, and going to rodeos. I really enjoy doing anything outside or artistic whether it’s painting, beading, or just crafts in general.
